As we worship Jesus Christ and grow in faith our hearts and minds are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and this begins to inform all that we do as we seek to live out God’s love in our families, schools, workplaces, and communities. The good news of Jesus Christ is for all people and we desire to proclaim his great love in both word and deed, inviting others to find new life in him. At St John’s and St Paul’s there are opportunities for you to roll up your sleeves and serve.

At St John’s and St Paul’s we are generous with our finances and time. One of the ways we live this out is by supporting various organizations both locally and globally.

  • Globally: As a parish we support organizations around the globe that are doing good work. Some examples of organizations we have supported include Kiva, Doctors Without Borders, and The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund. We have also been involved in raising funds for refugees.
  • Locally: Closer to home we support and volunteer at organizations such as the Barrie and Elmvale Foodbank, Youth Haven, and Women’s shelters. Each Christmas we also support local families in the area.

Evangelism can seem like a frightening practice but simply put it is about living and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. We really believe that God loves everyone and that an important part of our life as Christians is opening our hands and our mouths to say so. Throughout the year we run events that are ordered towards this goal. It could be a Neighbourhood Fun Fair or a Theology-on-Tap night at a local establishment. We want our neighbours to know that Jesus Christ loves them and invites them into a living relationship with God through him.

At both St John’s and St Paul’s there are a variety of different ministries that you can get involved with to help you serve others. Some of our active ministries include chancel guild, hospitality, outreach, property management, welcome team, men’s breakfast, Anglican Church Women, Sunday School, and more.
