Deacon

Tom was ordained a deacon at St. John’s, Craighurst on December 3, 2017. In addition to his liturgical duties as a deacon in the parish he helps to bridge the gap between the church and the community by providing monthly worship services at three different retirement homes and visiting with parishioners and their family members who find themselves sick or otherwise shut-in. Investigating a call to vocational ministry he enrolled in the Master of Divinity programme at Knox College but later moved to Wycliffe College to complete a Diploma in Christian Studies, a Certificate in Anglican Studies and finally a Master of Theological Studies.  He is very interested in the early history of the Church of England and its liturgy. From time to time Tom is asked to lead worship beyond the Anglican church an opportunity which he welcomes for the sake of the Gospel. Outside of the church he has worked at Chapters as a permanent part-time employee for almost 9 years.  He and his wife Beth share a love of reading (specifically murder mysteries set in England), cooking and travel.
